Michael Baldinger, M.D.
Medical Director, Harborview Recovery Center
Harborview Recovery Center is pleased to have Dr. Michael Baldinger as our Medical Director. He has served patients and their families suffering from the disease of addiction since 1982.
Dr. Baldinger was medical director for the Grant Hospital Addiction Treatment Program from 1982 until 1994. Grant's program was responsible for training an entire generation of addiction treatment professionals. Dr. Baldinger has served as medical director for both private and public sector addiction treatment programs, including Haymarket Center, one of the largest and most successful publicly funded programs in the Midwest.
Dr. Baldinger is a certified addictionologist with the American Society of Addiction Medicine and is board-certified in Internal Medicine. He holds academic appointments at Rush University Medical Center and the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Baldinger is a graduate of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York University.
Bruce A. Gober, M.D.
Chairman, Department of Psychiatry, Saint Joseph Hospital
Dr. Gober oversaw the development of Harborview Recovery Center and the Psychiatric Outpatient Program. Dr. Gober is a board-certified psychiatrist and is certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine. Dr. Gober served as chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at Lincoln Park Hospital (formerly Grant Hospital), which offered addiction medicine services. He oversaw and taught the clinical training program for addiction counselors there as well. He also was chairman of psychiatry at Michael Reese Hospital.
Dr. Gober is a member of the Behavioral Health Steering Committee of the Illinois Hospital Association. He is a life fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
Tony Pacione, LCSW, CSADC
Program Manager, Harborview Recovery Center
Tony Pacione, LCSW, CSADC, is Harborview Recovery Center's program manager. He joined Harborview in February 2008, bringing a wealth of experience as a clinician and program director in the addiction field since 1982. Tony has successfully integrated recent evidence-based treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-relaxation meditation training, and motivational interviewing, with time-honored 12-step facilitated addiction treatment approaches.
Tony has worked at well-known, innovative programs in the Chicago area such as Humana-Michael Reese HMO, Rush University Medical Center and the Advocate addiction treatment program. He has published articles on addiction treatment for academic and trade association journals.
Tony is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Illinois and a certified supervisor addiction counselor. He holds an Master of Social Work and a Master of Arts in Education degree from Washington University in St. Louis.
